Showcase
Throughout my time in the Master's in Educational Technology (MAET) program at Michigan State University, I have worked on developing the skills necesary to achieve my goals as an educator. As noted in my vision on my homepage, I strive to promote self-motivated learning, exploration, and growth in my classroom. My showcase overviews my educational journey and highlights creations that demonstrate my abilities as a teacher.
I believe that for students to be self-motivated they must be engaged. Technology can deepen this level of engagement when utilized properly. My projects in my "Engaging Learners with Technology" show all the ways this can be accomplished such as with useful and fun formative assessments, gaming, and maker's kits.
For students to explore, they must always have opportunities and proper classroom structure to deepen their knowledge and engage with content even outside the walls of the classroom. In my "Promoting Growth by Rethinking Learning Spaces" section, I show how reorganizing both the physical and digital classroom can promote learning.
